There were no posters
done for this concert, but only three advertisements in the Manchester
Evening News. Around that time, Factory had to cancel several concerts
because of Ian Curtis' fragile health.
So they thought they could save some money if they did not print
posters for this concert played 'at home' |

Joy Division brought
along their own support group, Minny Pops, but had a rude awakening
when they arrived. As a joke, Tony Wilson had phoned up the
club earlier, saying that he had a third band for the bill whom
Rob would really love, but that it had to be
a surprise. Wilson was unaware of the extent of the ill-will
between the bands and, considering past experiences Joy Division
had with Crawling Chaos, it was a bit less than a tearful reunion.
To top it off, many who attended that night thought that Crawling
Chaos were terrible, and wondered why Joy Division chose them as
support. Another problem that night was a group of temporary security
men, described as ex-Hell's Angels, brought in by Rob and generally intimidating everyone in
sight |
